Lisa Marie Presley Sues!!

Yes you heard right!! Lisa Marie Presley, Daughter of legendary singer Elvis Presley is suing a UK tabloid for making remarks about her weight and calling her fat!

The tabloid had also made comments stating she was headed down the same path as her father.

Through the tabloids blatant disregard for her privacy Lisa was force to make a private subject public.
She is in fact pregnant and not fat!

First I have to say…Lisa it wouldn’t even matter if you were fat! you’d still be the spitting image of your father and people are going to adore you for that anyway.
Secondly, Elvis did NOT die because he was FAT! and those who are actual fans of his actually know that and I am sure they are just as pissed about this comment from the tabloid insinuation that his being over weight is what killed him.

I think more celebrities need to start suing the ass’s off these papers for writing such nasty stuff, The more people that stand up and say enough is enough the more likely they will be to get it into their heads that it does no one any good to be spreading hate like that!

Is it about getting healthy or getting thin?

Is Hollywood really trying to get healthy or are the big girls just playing into this whole “thin is better” vibe?

We are so quick to attack women like Jennifer Love Hewitt for being curvy, yet in that same breath we say someone like Jennifer Hudson is super sexy curvy.
The last time I checked Hudson was much larger then Hewitt so what’s the difference? Why can we accept one but not the other?

Hollywood has gone on this new “health” kick and it’s beginning to drive me a little batty.
Don’t get me wrong I am all for getting healthy, BUT healthy does not always mean thin!

Take women like Ricki Lake and Star Jones for instance, Both women lost a tremendous amount of weight by two different methods, But they didn’t stop at just being “healthy” they took it to the extreme and became under weight.
Ricki Lake has recently been reported saying that she went from 300 pounds to being 125 pounds.
Now if you have read any of my other posts you will know that taller women need to weight more then shorter women. Ricki Lake is 5′4′ and by all “healthy” standers  she should weigh in at no less then 135 pounds. Which makes her under weight.

Star Jones is another perfect example of someone who took it to the extreme and went from being morbidly obese to looking like a little staving child in Africa.

I love hearing women who stand up for their curves and love themselves for who they are, But it saddens me when those same women are then talking about the new diet they are on.

Last year Jennifer Hudson was all about how hot and curvy she was, and she showed no shame for being a large women.
Come Oscar time she was reported talking about what her new diet secrets she had. Is that someone who is REALLY happy with who they are?

Yesterday I had to listen to Queen Latifa talk about her new diet plans which was odd for me to hear as she was one of those women who always promoted “curves”
Is she too now jumping on the “thin is better” bandwagon??

But on a much happier note Nikki Blonsky from the movie hairspray has said in a number of interviews that she is NOT willing to lose weight for anyone, specially not a movie role.
You go girl!

See sometimes curves and us fat girls really are not that bad, and we have much to offer and we do not need to get on the “thin is better” bandwagon.

Short People Always Get Scewed!

I have really started to come to an understanding with the world’s modelling industry. To put it plan and simple you can be the most attractive person in the world but if your under 5foot 8 your screwed!

We always talk about how we should not discriminate against anyone due to physical appearance but this industry seems to get away with it year after year.
Why are there no short people modelling agents out there? why are shorter people not featured on runways and in magazines? There is no real answer you can give that would make me think any different. It’s discrimination plan and simple.

You can be a skinny as a rail and as hot as the Bahamas but if your 5′4′ to bad no one will hire you to model for them.
Even the plus size modelling puts a label on how you “need” to look a certain way to work for them.
They say it’s OK to be fat and a size 14, but you better darn well be 5′9′ or else your not worthy.

I had an experience once at a plus size store where I looked up and saw this beautiful women wearing a cropped top and low-rise jeans exposing her flat tummy.
I said to the lady; “Why is that hanging in here? That women is far from fat!” The lady began to tell me that it was because the model in the photo was a size 14 but she was also 5′10.
As I tried on the pair of jeans the lovely model had been wearing in the ad I noticed something, the legs went on forever! And I was going to have no choice but to hem them up if I decided to buy them.
Looking at the price tag I was none to impressed when I saw it bulging out at a whopping $95, Again I approached the sales lady and asked why these jeans would cost so much when I could head across the street and get a pair almost the same for half the price, Sure they may fit a little different but us women always believe we can stretch them out.
The sales lady proceeded to tell me it was because they use “more” material to create these jeans there for they needed to mark up the price to cover those costs.
My comment to her “Well why don’t we just cut the legs off where I am gonna have to hem these up because they were made for a women who is 5 foot 9 I will give you back that material and you can chop off $40 from the price?”
She found my comment amusing to say the least, but sadly I got no deal and found a pair on sale got them instead and went home to hem them up.

I think the modelling industry needs to realize that not everyone in this world can be nice and tall and that clothing should be made for everyone, and by that I mean I should never have to worry about getting that awesome pair of jeans and fear I am going to have to cut off the cool bottoms because I am too short to fit into them.

I really I am not all that short, I have friends who are shorter I am 5 foot 4 and almost every store I shop in for pants I have to adjust the legs to some degree or another.

There needs to be a modelling industry for people who are under 5 foot 7! Would you not agree my fellow shorties?

Hollywood B.S.

Hollywood’s perception of what is thin and what is thick is completely retarded.
They actually try and convince people that women like Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson are actually “Curvy”.
Just because a women has a C-cup does not make her “curvy”.

I think Hollywood lives in some sort of fantasy world, and anything out of the normal realm of their twisted reality is considered disgusting.

They glorify women for being thin, and poke fun at them when they get slightly pudgy.
Women feel this overwhelming pressure to be skinny and tend to take it to far. When it’s taken to far the media jumps all over them for setting a poor example to young people.
They need to take a long hard look at themselves before they go placing the blame on any of these young women.

Have you ever watched one of these “entertainment shows” before a big celebrity awards show? “DIET SECRETS OF THE STARS” is their main headlines.
And just who is it that’s going on a diet? Women who clearly need not do such a thing.
Reese Witherspoon on a diet? Come on!!! does she really look like she needs to shed a few pounds?

A big deal was recently made over Tyra Banks and her slight weight gain, Did anyone think before they began blabbing to check with a medical professional to see if in fact she was over weight? NO!
The fact is, Is that Tyra is 5 feet 10 inches tall and by all medical standards she should weight in at least 150 pounds and No more then 165 pounds.
On her show she clocked in at 162 pounds, meaning she was with in her “TARGET” weight range for her height.

The media has a warped sense of what is real looking and what is healthy. They believe that a women at 5 feet 10 inches can weight in at 130 pounds and be healthy, and the fact remains is NO it’s not a healthy weight for someone of that height.
Nicole Richie is another perfect example as a person who has been consumed by the pressures of the media spotlight.
Her highest weight was 125 pounds and she stands 5 feet 1 inches tall. Her max weight according to medical information would be 115 pounds, So technically she was only 10 pounds over weight. But she went and lost so much she was weighing in at 86 pounds which would be considered greatly underweight.

People need to stop making their lifestyle choices based on what they see on TV and start getting the correct and proper information provided to them by a professional who knows what they are doing.
Hollywood does NOT know what they are doing, it’s all about the money baby and for some reason skin and bones sells.

If your thinking of going on a diet, it’s a huge deal and I highly recommend you do not read a stupid women’s magazine for help but go to your doctor who will then hook you up with all the correct people to help you through this time in your life.
